The Foundation Angel program was created after meeting with the Wells family whose husband, Patrick was battling a late stage of cancer.
During our home visit with Patrick and his wife in Fishhawk, we noticed the grass was knee high, the family shared that their conditioning wasn’t working properly and their washing machine wasn’t working.
Patrick had been battling cancer and it was clear this family of four was struggling. Our Angel team was able to contact a lawn care company who took care of their yard work, Famous Tate who replaced their washing machine and an air conditioning angel who repaired their air conditioner so they could face the days ahead without the excessive heat we were experiencing that summer.
Sadly, Pat lost his battle within just a few weeks. Because we knew that his wife would be trying to navigate life without him, we were able to pay 6 months of mortgage payments so she could get back on her feet and not have the stress of that looming over her on top of all of the other responsibilities she was now facing alone.
By serving this family, we knew that the Foundation Angel program would be able to come alongside families like Patrick’s as they faced a life threatening illness and give them practical help and hope, knowing they didn’t have to face this alone. We were blessed to walk alongside them and are grateful for our Angels Among Us who lift them up while on this terrible journey.
